JVC news

JVC released HD100U upgrades - the HD200U and HD250U.

They are not upgrades, they are aditional models to JVC's ProHD line up. Remember, the HD250 cost $9,000 with no lens, add a decent lens to that and you have a $13,000 camcorder; hardly an intro level HDV model. The GY-HD100 and GY-HD101 remain the bottom of the range ProHD models. JVC have no plans to discontinue them; well, not yet anyway.

"the link was removed..."

So you are not allowed to say good things about other cameras on this forum. Thats a shame. It doesnt make sense anyways after this on the forum guidelines:

"This site is not affiliated with Panasonic, and users are free to express their opinions on any piece of equipment. "

Where is your sense of justice people?

The JVC HD200 is gonna take a lot of heat away from the HVX200. Actually it's gonna take a lot of heat away from the Canon XL-H1 too. The slo-mo and the ability to attach prime lenses to it pretty much seals it. I'm buying this next year unless something better comes out.

Emanuel do you think to buy Silicon? In the forum it's confirmed that they will ship at september...I really like Red camera...but we must wait another year or so to buy Red...what do you think? Can we wait forever?
And have you received my drawings...?

I think it's better to write a good script, find some (good...) actors and shoot a movie on hi8 (medley style...if you don't have a dvx or a decent minidv)... but if you want the "perfect" look... then wait for the "perfect" camera... the perfect crue...the perfect actors... the perfect distribution...

Vincent, it's true your point but at same time we must to try have the better to get the best.

Saluti da Portogallo!

What codec are they using for 4:2:2?
Talked to someone in the know, and here's the rundown...

The new MPEG encoder records 12-frame GOP HDV to tape in vanilla HDV colorspace.

720 24p/60p in yummy uncompressed 4:2:2 is available via the HD-SDI tap, no word on if the also-newly-announced direct-to-disk solution will also record in 4:2:2 via some DVCPROHD-like codec.
The only details I have on the JVC hard disk accessory is that it will sometime in the near future be able to create FCP-compatible .mov files directly to the disk recorder so you can DTE with no ingest time.
At the risk of getting my linky-hand slapped again, here's a link with my thoughts on the camera.

Vincent you said right! :) Hope only to invest money a good camera, that is durable for years. I believe Emanuel thinks the same.

I've another illustration for a comic book, and a comic (one of the six page that you have received in black and white).
I've various sketches but they are not scanned...

True 4:2:2 straight from the chip, 60P (similar to the Varicam), improved cine-gamma, 16/35mm lens mount options, on-chip image flip for adapters like the RedRock Micro, some really cool stuff.

I'd post a link to a detailed rundown, but that move got my hand slapped and the thread deleted a few minutes ago. Suffice to say that JVC will do well with these cameras...

I was told that JVC only vertically flipped the image to accommodate the 35 adapter they are coming out with. There is no right to left flip. No rotation of the image. So while up and down are correct right and left are still opposite.

I'm drawing my own manga currently ( Shounen type), once finished going back for pre production on my next film!

cheers

That's without a lense or recording device. Look at 25k bare minimum (which is still a great deal but too rich for my blood).
