JVC Everio HD. Render/encode issues.

Hey all,

I have been given a bunch of HD footage shot on an Everio. Editing in PP-CS4 so I had to change all the file extensions from .TOD to .M2TS in order to get PP to recognise the files.

Now i'm struggling to find a decent export format that does justice to the original footage (which I'm surprised to say is actually pretty good). I've tried h.264/QT but the resultant footage is always jerky. I'm looking to get at least 720p res.

Any reco's from people here that use this camera?

Thanks and sorry for the lame question!

MY footage is 720p 1280 by 720. Do I need to make 720by 480 if I'm trying to get the final product to DVD with top quality possible via mpeg 2? Or can I still burn to DVD with 1280 by 720 in which I must use h264. Mpeg only allows 720by 480.
What is the best method for getting this type of sequence out of fcp to burn in dvdsp?

I will have to dig out what I was using. I have not done much with it in awhile. But the little camera impressed me aswell.

I am using the Quicktime Pro plug in downloaded from the JVC site. It seems to down convert the TOD files just fine.
