Jvc 4k

JVC has gone from being completely ignored to something worth playing with. Maybe some day it will actually be worth using. :)

I don't like the form factor, lack of better slow motion, and low dynamic range. C100 still seems better unless you need 4k in a camcorder and can't afford an FS7.

It baffles me how you could use APS-C or full frame lenses on this camera. The adapter would vignette right?

No, the light comes out of the lens as a cone. Look at the exit hole of a lens. This CP.2 lens covers 135 (36 x 24 mm, which is 43.26 mm diagonally) but its rear diameter is less than that.

The mount just must be bigger than the cone of light at that point. For example, the M39 lens mount was for 135 film but only 39 mm in diameter.

Thats a smart adapter not a speedbooster. Since the sensor clears the MFT mount a Speedbooster isn't needed.

Interesting and very cool. More cameras should be like this with the MFT mount and S35 sensor. Endless lens options including PL.

I know from experience that a number of APS lenses will cover full frame, at least over some of their range (Tokina 11-16, Sigma 18-35, for example). It will be interesting to play with some various M43 and 4/3 lenses to see if some of those also cover the S35 sensor.

I'd like to play with this JVC and I haven't said that before. It's the AF200 I wanted a few years ago only 4K. The real test is how the cameras Variable Scan Mapping actually looks when using MFT lenses.

I wonder if they just upres a sub-4K crop a la Alexa.

LS300.....been on a NDA for while on this and it looks like they really listened to what I and others said in terms of what has to be on the camera...it does not seem to be missing anything. The micro 4/3 mount will keep the door open for a lot of lenses, many that people already own...the shocking part is the price ($4450.00 msrp)! I was led to believe it would be in the $5-6K range so way to go JVC!

If the image doesn't suck, this could win over a lot of AF100 users. I've never been big on JVC cams, but this could do it for me. Under $5,000? Wow. Come on Panasonic, it shouldn't be hard to come out with something better.

News Shooter at Inter BEE with the JVC cams, including LS 300.

The JVC marketing rep may be a bit confused about the release date and/or the price point.

PS. There's also a mockup pro cam shown at the end.

Yes they do and I have one. Works a treat on my GH4. :)

Is there a speedbooster where I can control aperture/ manual of Canon or Nikon lenses with my Black Magic Pocket Cinema camera? The Pocket Camera has problems with aperture control, so if I can control aperture from a speedbooster product from Canon or Nikon lenses that would be great. Ideally new lenses. I can'T find documentation or sources where I can have full control. I'm sure with the GH4 talking with the speedbooster for aperture change is no problem, but the Pocket Camera is different

Don't know for sure if this is the sensor going into the LS 300 but it's not very impressive. They have this video posted on the homepage of the Altasens website. http://www.altasens.com It's of their 4k Super 35 sensor, which I'm assuming that's what they're putting into the LS 300. (correct me if I'm wrong) I've seen better DR from a cell phone camera. I had high hopes for this camera. I'm looking to replace my AF100 soon and this was on my short list. Where's Panasonic in this market?!?

They where heading the right way but JVC has lost it on a bad sensor. And being 5 years late in the game.
A pitty because until the EX1 came I always shot JVC.
