So, I saw all three this week, and all I have to say is WOW.

At first I was thinking "you can't leave the shire, and Sam, and merry and pippin. They're like your brothers!!" but than I was like "he's been through so much, I guess he has to go find a place where he can have peace, Sam already has a family and a life so he (frodo) has to go somewhere and heal :(".

It was as if I thought that frodo was actually a real person lol

I guess that's a sign that a movie did something right when it gets you to care that much about the characters and thier welfare

Spoilers after all these years whuahahhaha wait a minute I saw ET when I was 14 that was seven years later :(

If you liked it read the books, they are true literary masterpieces. They are long but worth it, if anything read the hobbit short and awesome in fact it was one of the first (real) books I read as a child.

Out of simple curiosity, how come you haven't seen them before?

I didn't watch much tv or many movies in the past. Than one day I watched a movie on bluray and the quality of that movie compared to dvd blew me away and made me want to watch movies in dvd quality on my old 27inch, early 90's tv even less than I already did :/ lol

I read the hobbies years ago but don't really remember anything from it at all. I have about 7 books in my que to read but I'll definitely add the trilogy to the list

Give it a year or so then watch the extended versions. I've only seen the first one but it was awesome, the extra scenes really added a lot to the movie.

These movies came out almost 10 years ago. It's possible he was too young to watch them in the theater. And if that doesn't make you feel old I don't know what will.
Well how about this:

You know AMERICAN PIE? The joke in there about the kid calling himself the "Sherminator" and the chick that tells him in the end that TERMINATOR 2 is almost ten years old (actually it was eight)?

Well, AMERICAN PIE is now twelve years old and there's already been SEVEN movies in that franchise if you include all sequels and spin-offs, and there's talk of a reboot in the works.

Feeling old now?

I think I did watch the extended versions, not sure about the first two but I think they were three hours long, and the fourth one I remember was four hours ten minutes. Why do you say wait a year? I'm guessing those were the director cuts that i watched
