"Mary's Travel Brochure" by Drew Ott

I guess my eyes are playing tricks on me. No reference to Deliverance. I haven't seen the film, but I am familiar with "I bet you can squeal like a pig"... however, I don't know the context so I probably shouldn't try to use it. I've been editing for 14 straight hours minus a bike ride and some snack breaks. I'm pretty certain that's a personal record. Feels good, indeed.

12:48am ---- If I was a full-time editor, I would be incredibly overweight. I've easily consumed 3 times my normal calorie intake today, and have just been sitting down.

Something I just learned: Try to be really nice to actors. There's a point in the footage from this shoot where I noticed the performances getting much worse. I couldn't figure out why, but I accidentally listened to something I said between takes when the camera was still rolling. I said, "Guys, I want to get into Sundance with this film. Right now, you're holding me back." I meant this to motivate them, but I think it just frustrated them. Lesson learned.

(this post is a joke. I need to get back to editing)

You might be going to school tomorrow with a keyboard imprinted in your forehead. Try to see the humor in it if some miscreant walks up and tries to type something.

Laugh it off knowing it was well-earned.

It's going to beautiful drew. I can feel it.

Thanks for the encouragement Alex. It's kind of funny that you signed "aw" this time.

Edit --- Anybody noticing that enter isn't working, and you have to type the BR html thing? Also, quotation marks are messing up. Maybe it's just my computer.

2:40am ---- I just realized that my right hand's fingernails are slightly shorter than my left hand's. I wonder if this is because they simply grow slower, or if it's because I'm right handed, and my left hand doesn't cut with as much precision as my right hand, making them shorter because I over-cut.

4:45am ---- Another successful hour. Less tired than before. I'm relatively optimistic because I got over part that I was struggling with. I'm definitely going to be re-editing this later before I submit to other festivals. Unfortunately this is going to be like a rough draft cut.

whoa that was quick!!!!!!!! you must have a fast machine. my mbp isn't that speedy. doesn't compressor tell you the estimated file size???

I'm using Quicktime Pro. Using math, it should have been about 50mb but I was obviously a little over.

35% complete on try #2. Hopefully this one works because I have to leave for school in about 30 minutes...
