just purchased 7d/lens advice

i just purchased a 7d with the kit lens 28-135mm f/3.5 as a starter lens. i am going to be photographing and using the hd video for skiing and snowboarding this winter. i would like another, nicer lens to use and i would like some advice as to what to get. budget is about 400 maybe a little more.

what would be good for some follow shots and what would be good for use with a tripod.

go for a wider lens, should keep the jello down, something like a 17-50. There are threads all over this place about lenses like this one. It's perfectly wide for the APS-C sensors.
