Chenopup- glad you liked the wall with nurses and docs. none of it was "borrowed" we shot it all and i made the diagram thats displayed on it. It definitly has a minority report feel about it, also a little inspiration camer form the empire strikes back, there is a scene in that snow complex they have, with a guy looking at a glass wall with little markers on it. i always thought that was a cool thing, super flat panel transparent monitors, that are touch sensitive.
taubkin-i have some experience in post production, i wouldnt say that was my background though. i think i did post work for about a year or so. i have more preproduction experience now then anything...my background is mostly sculpture and fabrication.
DvPixl- the .6 lens is a wide angle attachment lens for the dvx. made by century optics. actualy, i made a mistake saying that is was the .6 lens, it was actualy the .7 lens. i used to have the .6 for my xl1s so always get them mixed up now.
Bob Gundu- yup, almost all of the roto work is sloppy right now. the shots just needed to be good enough to be legible for the moment.
Pais- i get a kick out of that shot too, so funny. yes, the mulitple doctor thing will play out through the video. if you look now you will see some of it already even with the girl and other shots with the guy, im trying to not making it too obvious yet that everyone is the same, what we see at the end should make people realize a bit whats going on.

I'm really glad to see a new talent posting stuff.
Aesthetically, you've got some beautiful work here.
Are you a shooter? Director? You (or your director) have representation? If you do have representation with a production company send me a private message...I'd love to get a reel on DVD.
And if you haven't gotten representation, and you're a director, you should really go for it.

Nate- Yes im the dir. i dont have a rep, im still pretty new to making my own films and whatnot. last summer was the first time i ever directed anything. at some point i'd like see about getting signed by a production company. but i feel i need a few more strong pieces on my reel before i go down that road.
jasonk- yeah, it falls off towards the end. I havnt messed with that part so much, cause thats about when we will transition into the next scene, which we will shoot next week sometime.
Peter_Gaudry- The settings were, 24pa, gamma=cine like, Knee=Mid, Matrix=Cine like. I think if i did it again i would set the gamma to low. I got some blue fring in a bunch of shots thats really annoying.
Young-H._Lee- get on it dude, you have xsi yet? ae? when you gonna have some work to show? I highly recommend this site...http://contest.3dluvr.com/ when i first started using softimage i entered a couple of the contests there (check out contest 20 and 21 in the archive) anyway, its a great place to go for someone starting out.

Very impressive. Definitely one of my favorites. Amazing imagery.
Two thoughts:
First, while I like the fuzzing/blurring of the edges, it is a little too strong for my taste.
Second, about 1:04 into the video as it goes into the chorus, it feels like there needs to be a more dramatic cut there, something that ramps up in time with the song (does that make sense?).
Overall though, amazing stuff, and a great song. Now, if I could just get the song out of my head.

Hey thanks guys.
The budget for the video once its finished will probably be around 5g's. No one on the crew was paid, and about half of that money went to getting locations. And then a good chunk went to equipment. We made cool/cheap costumes. I will post some higher rez clips later. but i love the outfits that we made for the surgery, alot of plastic and tyvek, i was very happy with them. I also bought a bunch of medical prop things on ebay, and we purchased like a dozen little 12" fluorescent lights, and a dozen or so lights of america fluorescent fixtures. and a bunch of misc things, oh, and craft service...which i dont think i ate any of, cause i was so pressured for time.

Rob- dude, im in atwater village, like a mile from glendale...small frickin world eh? I will check out your site...
Ryan- thanks man, dude, definitely dont throw in the towel. or if you do, make sure its because your shooting a boxing movie and there is a shot where a towel need to be thrown.

It all happined by accident, we so didnt plan that thing. Anyway, after we ****ed around, i captured it, and played it back at double speed. We seriously, laughed like complete retards for like half an hour watching it over and over. we were so excited to show everyone at work the next day our little creation. the next day, 2 of the girls in the office had tears in their eyes watching it and everyone else was on the floor laughing, it was awesome! yup, goodtimes....

Yes, that blue fringe sucks, it has something to do with exposure with the dvx. check out this thread at dvinfo.net (i would have posted it here, but i hadnt yet become of a member of dvxuser)

To get the mulitple thing i shot the same actors in passes and am doing roto in after effects to layer them in the same comp.
Glad you noticed it, the multiple thing gets setup a bit earlier in the video and plays out the whole way through, and there is a bigger reveal of it at the end. the idea is that everyone in the video looks the same, except for the lead singer.
