When I first pulled it out of the case I thought, 'this thing looks like a toy'. Put the 14-140 lens on it, started shooting... The footage came out alright but not amazing. I spend all of last night reading the manual cover to cover, reading the forum, and trying out every function on the camera...

After gaining a basic understanding of the camera I took it out on a gig earlier today. Just some simple interviews. I have several HMC150s so i used the 150 as my main camera, and the GH2 as a side shot during the interview. Set the iso to a decent level, plenty of light in the room. When I came home I put the card in my computer, hit play.

This little camera is AMAZING. Absolutely STELLAR image quality. DOF is beautiful. Definition, lack of noise in a good shooting environment... I'm sure this camera has its limitations, but overall I'm genuinely shocked.

I only wish I could get 24fps Cinema mode to show up as an option under C1/2/3. And the batteries are way too small. Glad I bought 3 more!

Glad you enjoyed the GH2 in your first outing. The Custom modes are awesome, you just need to learn about them. You can save whatever the settings of the entire menu's are into anyone of the Custom settings. So if you want one of the Custom settings to be a 24h, plus anything else you want, when your camera is set the way you want, then save it in the custom button you want. It is awesome. For example, I have one of my Custom settings be 24h with ETC mode plus lots of other settings... Al

get a good m4/3 to ________ adapter so you can use better lenses and you'll even be happier.

Aside from the stickied thread about 'setting up' the GH2... Any suggested tutorials/tricks? My wife is a straightup photographer, whereas I am not, and she has some beautiful Canon lenses that I want to use.. So I will definitely get a few nice adapters! Next thing I'm getting is the pancake lens!

Got to agree with this. I've got adapters for my Nikkor lenses and an old Leica Summitar lense. And since your wife's a photographer, you should have a nice bunch of lenses you can borrow. One word of caution though - once your wife sees the results you're getting using her lenses, she may end up borrowing your camera.

Now go grab some primes. For example the 20mm pancake is what changes this camera from 'very nice' to 'holy Sh!*'
