just got manhatten 8.9" LCD

finally received my monitor. looks great! I'll play with it over the weekend. I happen to notice that im missing the plug to monitor power supply... can someone confirm im missing this? Did you receive it in your order? I ordered the monitor with the Tek- battery which came with its own power cord etc but im missing the plug that connects to the power supply for the monitor.

Yeah you're supposed to receive the plug and cord that connects into the monitor on one end and a power cord that plugs into the power supply. This cord looks to be fairly common and it has the writing 7A/125V on the end that goes into the power supply.

John. That looks great and I love that it's not expensive but a reasonable price. Would it be possible to pick one up again locally or just local mail?

Cheers

so as I understand it:

B model is 1:1 pixel mapping
C model is 720p native

what is the visible difference between those and A model, I mean not the tech specs but what will the eye not see and the user lack in the field?

playing with the monitor a bit... noticed i could not adjust the brightness etc via the menu buttons.. i'll try with the remote.. I'm pressing the right buttons since i am able to play with the language settings etc.. anyone come across this? I also noticed no manual.. its straight forward but a manual is always nice. I'll get to using the monitor this weekend... i'll post some pictures..

You need to have a video source connected to change the brightness.

HD089A (1024x600) Full Screen Only
HD089B (1024x600) 16:9 setting is 576P native, also has 4:3, 1:1
HD089C (1280x768) 16:9 setting is 720P native, also has 4:3, 1:1

The HD089C has a very high quality panel in it, the veiwing angle is 179.

See how sharp the picture is, maybe I will try and get some better photos of it.

is there such a thing as 1080 native?
is it going to be in Manhattan LCDs?

I don't think a full 1080p screen at that size exists. Also, at that size 1080 is irrelevant over 720 anyways due to extreme pixel density, that's pretty much been proven all the way up to 42".

There are 1080p native lcd avalible, but only for large sizes 22" and up.

Three years ago, Sanyo was going to come out with a 8" 1080p native panel. I took that with a grain of salt.... still not out.

Just used my Manhattan 8.9 inch in a factory setting on my jib crane. It worked flawlessly and was extremely helpful while judging focus and framing and I must say the color balance was not all that bad either. I had my Tekkeon battery velcro'd to the back of the monitor. I wish I had a spare cable though for the Tekkeon, just for insurance. The one that plugs into the battery, with the other end going to the monitor...Can those be purchased separately? That battery lasted the entire day without being re-charged.

Also, I tried my battery that powers my Varizoom 7 inch TFT monitor and that works just fine also.

Yes they can. As a matter of fact I just ordered a spare from them. Check out the site they have other options for cables. I have two batteries and use them for the monitor as well as my zylight.
I also use mine with my kessler but keep the batteries in a meter pouch I bought at Home Depot.
cheers

Hi,

I am in the market for an LCD for my 170. I am curious what the warranty & return policy is for the Manhattan LCDs?

Thanks.

I have an outtake photo from the shoot but not really sure how to attach a photo here....anybody care to give an "uploading photo" tutorial here?
