just got manhatten 8.9" LCD

foam core is cool.. and in a pinch cardboard painted black works. I think the guys will have a lens hood available soon...

Am I the only person here that has issues with the latency of this monitor? I have not tried (my mistake!) a Marshall,Nebtek,Ikan Tote Vision etc. But I find the latency on a pan disturbing. Am I doing something wrong?
I bought a 22" Samsung LCD Monitor and a DVI to HDMI cable for "clients and music video directors" and there is quite a difference...5ms vs 25 I guess.
I am interested to know how others are dealing with this and how other monitors react.

Interesting point! I haven't thought about it though I sure have noticed it on pans!
25 milliseconds. Let's see, if I'm correct that means a 25/1000th of a second right? It does cause jittering pans but at least at the point of 'rest' it's a close match to the action. Look, these monitors are not meant for Big Budget studio productions. Just to ensure that focus/framing are accurate - and that they deliver on nicely!

Brain, you should have your monitor tomorrow, Fedex is 1 day to Canada.

Tekkeon MP3450 last about 5 hours with a full charge. When charging the battery, dead to full takes about 1 hour.

We are going to be switching the battery to a MP3700, a little more capacity, also the battery is auto senses the voltage, so you don't need to set the voltage.

FYI HD089C 720p navite is coming out in a few days.

But I thought you said they didn't work with the Manhattan LCD monitors?
:D

I realize that and accept that this is not a $5k Panasonic monitor. I just found it odd that since following this thread and others elsewhere for a few months now before buying the monitor it was not mentioned or I missed it being mentioned.
Yes the frame is fine when you get there. At least now I know I am not alone. And now for the explanation to the clients watching it...."Well you see...."

John, any chances of a 5.6" like the new ikan? I want as small and light a monitor as possible while still being fairly high res with hdmi.

something must have happened with fedex and my monitor as it did not arrive Sat... hmm now on to monday for delivery.

here's mine MLCD with tekkeon with velcro on the back and cheap light foamcore sunhood.
the battery is the one where the voltage is selected manually by the switch. i earlier had another battery where voltage was selected by pressing a button, i pressed it once an extra time and fried the screen :( the guys from MLCD fixed it quickly.

I am probably mistaken, but I thought that the Tekkeon 3700 is aimed at the laptop market and sets its internal delivery voltage by reading the voltage at the laptop's charger port (as energized by the laptop's internal battery).

Have you actually tried the 3700 yet? Please let us know.

Also, how difficult would it be to install a simple crowbar overvoltage-protection circuit with an SCR, zener diode, and fuse?

I have and it works fine.

FYI the sunhoods are here, and also the HD089C's (720p native).

I have several HD089C prototypes Im going to be selling, ($200 off).

another day and no shipment arrival. called Fedex today and learned they do not deliver on Mondays for some reason. I was suppose to get my package Sat but the lady said it did not happen. WT! I selected the home ground delivery to save a few bucks. I'll never do that again. I have the Monday blues now. :)

Yeh, ground fedex is like another company. They don't have the same standards are fedex air. BUT they are still better than UPS by a long shot at least your monitor will arrive in one piece. I have had three damaged items in six weeks from UPS. Hang in there ...

When will they be on the web site John? Guess I should have waited eh? Would have been nice to know. Is there less latency with the native 720, are they faster?
How much are they and they sun shades?
