just got manhatten 8.9" LCD

Dear Johnzo,

If you could, would you be able to tell me the possibility of people living oversea buying your product?

If it is possible, what would be the payment option?

I live in Japan.

Thanks in advance.

We ship worldwide, FedEx Express and EMS, good shipping prices. We take Paypal and all credit cards

I don't have a Canon XH-A1, but on my Canon HV30 you can turn "TV monitor" on or off. When it's "off," the information does not display on the Manhattan LCD (or any external monitor) hooked up via the HDMI, component, or composite connections. I trust it's the same on the XH-A1.
Thanks Bud.

I was real interested when this thread started and just got a little over $400 together. Now, two weeks later it has gone from $425 to $495?
Ok, I get the law of supply and demand but it still feels like this community is getting jacked here. One guy posts what he believes is a good deal. Others in this community get interested and start buying a few, then the manufacturer responds by increasing the price by 16.5%. This is the kind of thing that actually motivates me to spend more money---someplace else.

Same situation here... the polite thing to do was at least letting us know about the price increase so we could take advantage of the old pricing... To me there is no another option, at least at this price and quality

How about we help each other out?

Guys... it may seem one way as gouging, but they are really good guys. Seems like a very personal operation run out of their house.... making a great product at a decent price. I think it's money spent on a US operation. Not some outsourced Indian or HK operation. If you are offended then that's your right, but I think in deference to them... they are doing another good gesture in offering that discount. These guys are alright... and they started as DIYers on the forums just like this one.

Cut 'em a bit of slack and you'll be happier if you need a product like this. BTW, are your lens hoods done yet?

Nice! any link to that coupon? or code?

I did a very dumb thing with my monitor and called these guys up and they're going to get it fixed for me fast. Gotta buy a new screen but... it's great to be able to talk directly to the makers of the monitor without having to go through the lengthy process of customer service (shudders).

Don't want to talk about it... it was a rookie move caused by lack of sleep and not thinking straight. Lets just say I gave the monitor a little to much power...
A little too much power eh? Ok, we won't ask more but we are happy that you didn't fry yourself.... wink wink.

Actually I just spoke with Vincent at Manhatten and he was totally helpful even researching my camera online to see if my batteries would work with the unit. He is even throwing in some adapter parts he had on hand, so I can solder my own tips....AND he called me at home to confirm that my order had gone thru ok. I am getting a very very good feeling about this company. No bum's rush on the phone either. They spent as much time as needed to answer my newbie questions. Bravo to them.

SmallHD doesn't ever seem to have anything in stock and not updated their website in forever. Seems like vaporware.

Thanks for the images. Looks good. Is this displaying 16:9? How come the LCD information is not shown on the monitor. Isn't it supposed to show what is on the LCD? Would magnification, peaking and other LCD info show as on the Canon XH-A1's screen?

I checked this out for you. The A1 does show LCD info and magnification. However peaking is not displayed.

On the HMC150 neither peaking or magnification is displayed when connected via HDMI. It also cuts a little off the edges when compared to the on board displays (as can been seen in gallery below). NOTE: shots 1-4 are via component connected to A1. The rest are connected to HMC150 via HDMI.

I have to say I really like this monitor. Great build quality. Great price.

I also found an inexpensive on camera mount if anyone is interested.

OK Guys you wanted us to keep you posted on what is happening.
As of right now we have 3 HD089A monitors left... so if you want one this will be your last chance to get one for a few weeks. Our parts supplier is completely out of MST controlers and will not have them in for 2 or 3 weeks. We will be recieving a shipment of tekkeon mp3450 batteries within the next week, so if you want a kit w/ tekkeon batery it may delay the shipment of your order by a few days. Otherwise we will be shipping the last of the monitors on monday. also our HD089B monitor is coming out soon with an upgraded Pixelworks controller it has more features better scaling and easier menu system but it is $100 more expensive than the HD089A. if you have any other questions email sales@manhattanlcd.com.
