Nice! Thanks for sharing!

Not easy with the changes in framing, but I'd say
Scarlet > 1DC > F35 > C300 > D800 > 5D3 > A99

(edit: the F35 is pretty close to the 1DC, though, which is pretty awesome)

McGee...that's a dang good question as there's a lens-conrol port on the front. I'm real curious.

A note to all: RPZ 17-50 is a NO GO on fitment. I understand from MacG that the RPP's are the same. Time for the RPP 17-50 to go!

I really wanted to test powering the lens through the camera, but their lens
cables had not arrived yet. I'm assuming it works but I'm eager to know for sure.

The back of the RPZ hits the PL ring...not enough distance.

Sorry to ask but are we 100 percent sure that the RED 15-50mm PL mount won't sit on the F35. Terrible news as I have an F35 arriving in a few days and have my RED 17-50mm eagerly waiting for it! This would really set me back. A worried Sparky...

No deal...it will not work. Close, but no cigar. It is close though, so perhaps a modification of the tabs on the mount, it may work. The tabs/flanges to tighen it, rub against the back of the lens. :crybaby:
Sorry for the bad news--nothing's easy.

Argh! That has ruined all my plans. Was selling two CP2 lenses to go towards F35 and just use the RED 17-50mm (which is a cracking lens covering a great range). This news has scuppered my well laid out plans...Thanks for confirmation though.

I had this same problem with the RPP in an Alexa.
The problem is that the red lenses ring around the mount are at an angle, while all arri ones are straight.
Anyway, you could mod your lens or mod the F35 mount a bit to make it work. Don't panic. It can be solved by a technician.

Haven't posted on here in FOR. EV. ER. Just wanted to pop in and say I bought Mac's other F35 body, outfitting it this week. Did some tests and it's puuuurdy cool.

I decided to go back and watch an episode from the first season of Sherlock shot on the F35 and compare it to second season shot on Alexa... I have to say, I do like the image from the F35 more. I guess I've never really compared the 2, thinking that Alexa was always a bit superior, but taking a closer look really has changed my mind about that.

Does anybody like the image more than the new F5/55 footage that's been released so far? I'm just trying to figure out what it is about the F35 image that's so attractive. It's got that mojo... and a very filmic motion to it, almost as if it had a mechanical shutter. So tempting to invest in one of these.

Well, for one a "global shutter" is indeed closer to a mechanical one. Although I think mechanical still looks better. The other reason is probably the CCD instead of CMOS. Although it seems F3 shot in S-Slog is quite hard to tell apart from F35. Maybe if there are blown highlights.

About the F5/55 I think it's too early to tell.

Alexa vs F35, sometimes I like better one, sometimes I like better the other. But F35 definitely looks better than any RED IMO.

I would rather mod the lens mount. It's obvious that is what's off standard here.
If you know or could suggest anyone who could do this for me in the UK I would be very grateful. If the lens mount on the Red was altered, could it still work on my F3? Thanks, Sparky
