My Company (a large, well- know ad agency) asked me to shoot a 2 min film to "tease" our employees of our upcoming logo/name/philosophy change. I had two crappy home depot lights to work with and my DVX. One night only to shoot and one night to edit. This is what I came up with. Everything was written by me. Lemme know what yall' think. Thanks!

PS... The type tools in vegas suck, but I had no time to do in Illustrator or PS.

what type of post correction/filters was used? looks like some magic bullet, or at least some soft focus....

This was really well done; especially considering the time frame.  Nice job.

Those titles are horrid; go download some for cryin out loud.  Did you know Vegas can do Drop Shadows and outlines and other nifty tricks?  And if you have Vegas 5 you can do vector and 3d!   Don't blame the software; just be creative.

Anyway; nice job on the vid.

haha thanks! It's my job to blame the software... I'm an Art Director andI work in QuarkXpress all day and love the luxury of the tracking/kerning/leading tools. I didn't have much time to do anymore, though. Next time I'll edit in FCP on the G5 at work.

I haven't really taken the time to learn it. I got a copy on ebay recently since my powerbook decided to crap out on me. I'll blame myself!!! USER ERROR!!!! haha.

I think it was great for such a short time frame. As for the text... no it didn't fit with today's gloss and flash, but if I'm not mistaken they are direct old-school stuff from the 70's or 80's. Thanks for sharing. :)

The lighting on the shot with the man holding the swatches to the painting was really bad. SHADOWS!!!! Also, the text at the end went on... and on... and on..... I never thought it was going to end. Other than that it was really good for a quick deadline. Nice stuff!

i agree that the titles are the weak area here. You need to break up that solid block of titles at the end, its way too long.
Maybe you could use some cutaways or something.

good stuff. i didnt mind the text at the end. it was awkward, but for some reason i felt like it should be. kind of like a stream of consciousness thing

I work in Chicago and I see your Chicago counterparts quite often.

Actually, JWT went ahead with the name/look change. Our division is JWT Specialized Comm. We are doing that on Monday and wanted to tease employees on what's coming. I work out of St. Louis but was based in Chicago when I worked for a competitor.

Well edited. Nicely shot apart from shadow in front of portrait of Captain Paint.
Did you get fired for tossing the paint on the wall?
