Just bought a Hyperdeck Shuttle 2

Any news on whether these Shuttle 2 DNxHD files can be opened by non-AVID NLEs ?

Everything I've read about so far states that right now the files can only be opened on an AVID system. ( the Shuttle 2 DNxHD files might not be 100 percent legal for the format )

I am hoping that this DNxHD compatibility issue is fixed with a firmware update. ( I edit with Vegas and Premiere )

I started a thread in the FCPX sub-forum regarding finding a solution to rewrapping the DNxHD files to quicktime. Even tho you don't edit in FCPX the solution, if found, I think would help you as well. Here is the link.

I edit with Premiere 5.5 on Windows 7.
Calibrated {Q} MFX 2.2.0 does play and edit the shuttle files in Premiere.
$199 for the plugin from Calibrated.

So a $345 product becomes a $544 product. Plus a $100 SDD, it is now a $644 product. It starts to add up.

I just tested the Calibrated software. I'm running tests all day. Follow this thread and help give me ideas of programs to test. Post #14 will constantly be updated.

Any updates? Perhaps a side by side comparison of the grading results with AVCCAM footage vs the DNxHD footage?
