With a 24-77mm lens, the zoom lens that comes with it 18-135mm, and the 50mm f/1.8 lens.

I'm ready to shoot some videos!!!!

I'm wondering if i should upgrade my DVX to an HVX soon though.

Next thing I need to do is figure out what I need to get to make the audio work,
and some cheap but effective lighting.

Lighting should never be treated with lackluster care. I highly recommend a serious investment since lighting in films will never go out of style.

Atleast serious films for that matter.

Hello TruEstar, here is my opinion:
Give the 7D back and take the 60D or 600D.
With some of the extra cash buy the RODE VIDEO MIC PRO and use it as advised (especially with ML installed) to have usable audio from your camera.
Use the rest of the extra cash for your lighting...

Yeah, if I would of gotten the 60D instead as well, but it came out way after I owned the 7D. No AGC, still uses LP-E6 batteries. I already have a few Class 10 SDHC cards as well.

Ouch, way to put it bluntly!

The 7D is still a great camera, but if you are on a limited budget and plan to do video, I would strongly consider the other choices.

Let's not forget, though, the 7D is one hell of a stills camera. Arguably the best APS-C camera on the market even after two years. Get out there and play around with photos and you'll get a better grasp on exposure and framing that will help your videos.

If you are only into video, then yes, a 60D would be my choice -or better yet- wait until 11/3

Yes, I was thinking of learning photography too.
Already took some pictures and i'm going to pick up a flash.

I'm not taking back the 7d. I'm sticking with it, but I believe I might sell my DVX100b for a shotgun mic and zoom h4n.

thanks though guys.

when the 5d mark iii comes out, hopefully i'll of made enough money to get that too =)

I really, really disagree with this. The 7d is a very good still camera. Audio will be horrible even if you use the 60d with ML. It will just suck so always record it separately.

Changing from the 7d to the 60d for audio is just...not a good idea.

Arguable, and very much depending on the intended use.

For ENG-style work or corporate interviews, I am of the opinion that dual system audio is not only not necessary, but can even be overkill. This is my personal opinion and I know there are many audiophiles here that will continue to argue this point with me. But I say get a good lav and hot feed into the camera, and I dare the audience to tell the difference.

Meanwhile, I agree that I wouldn't sell the 7D just for the 60D's audio, I would do it for all the other reasons ML is great (focus assist tools, intervalometer, extreme ISO values, custom bitrate, live meters and histogram, etc) and the fact that the 60D offers an articulating display as well as cheaper batteries and media over the 7D while offering image quality that is indiscernible from each other.

However, yes, the 7D is an excellent stills camera. If that's where your priority is, its an excellent option.
But for video, it used to be considered the best because there weren't many alternatives. I think it does not come as highly recommended as it once was.
