Just A Heads Up - Panasonic Lowered HMC150 and HMC40 Pricing

[David Saraceno]

Pricing was previously at $4035.00 (HMC150) and $2318.00 (HMC40).

"With new lower list prices, the AG-HMC150 1/3” 3-CCD and AG-HMC40 1/4” MOS AVCCAM solid-state Camcorder have become an even better value for video pros. The HMC150 produces stunning 1920 x 1080 resolution and offers a high-performance wide-angle Leica Dicomar™ 13X zoom lens and 24- and 30-frame progressive capture in a full range of HD formats. The 2.2-lb HMC40 captures stunning full 1080p HD video and 10.6-megapixel still images. The new SLP for the HMC150 is $3,495, and the new SLP for the HMC40 is $1,995."

What do you think this will mean for actual prices at retailers?

I think it might mean an end to the DVX100b....The HMC150 will take that spot. :crybaby:

HMC150 doesn't do standard-def or tape though, so the DVX still holds a unique position in that product lineup.

True...perhaps the price on that beauty will drop too?
I'm just hanging on to mine, still love it...and it doesn't owe me a thing, the first job I did with it more then paid for it. It's only got about 50 hours on it.

Search around, I bought a brand new HMC150 for 2800.00 $
