1) i own a recording studio, so i have a lot of different microphones with the addition of the rhodes ngt2. is it possible to use any of my studio mics for imdoor recordind?

2) i tried callin b&h photo to purchase a tiffem uv filter but they are closed
until wed. i found brand new one on ebay for $15.00 usd. problem is that
i don`t know the size i need. could someone please tell me?

3) what do you guys use to record to when using a boom pole or wireless
mics other than your camera?

thanks in advance

1. Yes. Obviously different mics will yield different degrees of performance.

2. 72mm

3. I use a Marshall condensor , a Shure sm57 and an AT lavalier.

3) Standard practice is to boom a hypercardioid (or cardioid in some cases) indoors, and a shotgun outdoors. It's all about the pickup pattern.

Wireless and lavs should generally be avoided, but can be useful in some circumstances.

The RODE NTG-2 may function acceptably indoors, and it will be better if the space is fairly non-reflective (acoustically dead). Generally speaking, a small-diaphragm hypercardioid condenser is a great place to start for interiors.

You need a 72mm filter for the DVX, but don't cheap out on it. Even though a UV filter is just a flat piece of glass, the quality of that glass can affect your images drastically if it's bad glass. B&H is closed for Passover. If you need it before next week, try Adorama.

I have an NTG-3 shotgun. Great outdoors, and better than most shotguns indoors. For interiors, Oktava MK012 is a great little hypercardioid. For wireless, take a look at the Sennheiser G3 systems, though I'd upgrade to a better lav like the Countryman B6 or Sanken COS11. Always have a boom running, even if you use lavs.

uv filter

i recieved my uv filter i ordered off of ebay today. it came in original tiffen packaging. when i look through the glass am i suppose to see the uv coating on the glass or not?

and do the dvx100a use digital tiffen uv filters or not?
cause i was just recently told by an outside source that i should of gotten a digital uv filter for my dvx100a

It's not so much "digital" as it is multi-coated. Helps control reflections better. It's a good idea even if you're not using digital cameras.

i ordered a multi-coated uv filter from b&h photo today. i was inquiring about tiffen uv filters. and somehow ended up ordering a B&W multi-coated uv filter.
when i called them back to see how that happened they said for that type of filter B&W filters are way better than tiffen. since i don`t have the experiance that most of you have here i need to know if i should stick with the B&W uv filter or change to tiffen uv filter?

B&W uv filter$65.50 ----Tiffen uv filter $42.00

please let me kow ASAP order ships tomorrow morning
