Joey Lawrence Perception

Don´t you kids have anything else to do besides sitting in front of a computer these days?

Don't have to be a gypsy to see a golden future for you...
All the best,

All right Joey-

I'm in. Ordered mine today. These DVDs of yours seem to be selling like hot cakes. And no one has even seen one yet.

Sheesh. In addition to filmmaking, you might as well double up as a businessman and make billions.

Holy Cow dude... thanks for making me feel about 1" tall... seriously... you got it.

If I was hip and it was 3 years ago I'd have said dizz-aaaammn!

hey man, you should be making big bucks shooting photos and working for ad agencies. get a freelance job or two and you will have enough for a DVX.

Seriously...Joey, it doesn't matter if you are a 16 year old whiz or a really talented 40 year old with experience...you have got some major major skills. You could market those skills to make some big bucks. Not that its all about money. But with that eye, you should be soon writing your own ticket. Granted, if your goal is to get a DVX to become a filmmaker...welcome...but, you gotta know, and I'm probably not speaking for just myself...you have got some screaming skills and I can't wait to see what you produce in the future....

Rick

PS I check into DVX at least once a day and I always come back to this thread just to get another look.

I agree with TC. At the very least you have motivated me like no one else. Thanks!

EDIT:

I just watched the film you posted. Let me say if that is what you did with a cheap 1ccd camera I can't wait to see what you do with a 3CCD camera, especially one like the DVX. Nice little short film and the colors looked great. Beautiful stuff Joey, I'm really impressed, motivated and inspired. I'm also pissed that you're 16 and that talented.

Yeah man, I used a 1.3 megapixel point and shoot camera for some of the pictures on my site in my early days. I feel the manual flexibilities of the DVX will give me the same control boost as when I upgraded to the 5 megapixel camera I use now. It is still not high end equipment and not an SLR, but it get's the job done. :-)

I do a few side jobs such as weddings and such, and I am booked solid in other jobs creating websites (my website is http://www.joeyL.com) for a highschool student. :-)

There are key decisions that intrigue me... the scratches on the first photo and the presentation of that photo (or the taking of it) upside down. Care to expound on your thought process or influence with the scratches?

I'm impressed with both of these choices... as I guessed this girl looks stunning upside down, but she is only "cute" when the pic is flipped.

By presenting the shot upside down (I realize you probably don't consider it upside down) you gain a good amount of intrigue that wouldn't otherwise be there which makes both the girl and your photo skills look that much better... the scratches go great with the mood of the shoot and the other PS treatments.

I'm curious about your analytical decisions on that shot as it relates to my perception of it... since you can't tell me what I'm thinking I'd love it if you could at least tell me what YOU were thinking in those two key choices.

I could break down each photo as it appeals to me and what it is about each one that sets it apart in the world of photography (as could anybody else on the boards)... but if you care to just break down those two choices I would appreciate the view through your photographic eye.

You're certainly on the ball with what I like to get across. :-)

I also found she looked best flipped outside down. It gives a disorienting feeling that you can only get away with sometimes in pictures without making the viewer confused. The rotation gives the picture a little more of an edgy feeling, which I also put forth with the scratches.

When dealing with art instead of asking 'why', the best thing to ponder is 'why not?' :-) If there is a deeper meaning in a picture the viewer will find it through their experiences. I'm glad you know this. :) My intention here in my own view, and with many of my other pictures of beauty in ugly settings act as a foil. A 'foil' in literary terms is when two distinct things contrast, enhancing
the unique characteristics of each other. This must mean that pretty
girls look their best in the ugliest of places! :Drogar-BigGrin(DBG)

Cool! Just received my DVD in the mail. Thanks for the quick response. I can't wait to watch it and put it to work...
