I have the dvd although it is short, it gave me a pretty good idea how to use the burn and dodge tools appropriately. Color grading is barely explained, worth the buy for a newbie nonetheless.

I wanted to know how you make your shots look like this? How do you get them to look sortof animated/claymation type of look?
 
you do it through that "high pass" technique he showed you and through "burning"
every wrinkle and dark spot on the face and "burning" and "dodging" the eyes appropriately.
