I just ordered one as well! Looking forward to it! I'll pass your site on to everyone on my list.

I'm sure they can, at least by the description he gives on the site. Color grading, levels & curves, etc. AE would make that cake.

I think a lot of it might come down to how many layers and masks he is using on individual portions of the image. Imagine having to rotoscope tons of layers for even a 2 minute short... Wow.

Still, he is amazing with his photography and I'm impressed not just by the look, but also his composition.

have these pictures been tweeked in photoshop?

Besides, who cares? Being a Photoshop whiz is highly commendable in and of itself...

Take the 4th picture down for example; The night shot of the guy holding the gun. Now, I highly doubt the 3 bright spotlights in the original picture gleam quite like that. And with 3 bright lights facing the lens/us the audience, I'll almost guarantee that in the original shot, you wouldn't see any stars to speak of.

But who gives a frig??? That picture is gorgeous...

Great job man! Looking forward to seeing your video work when the camera arrives!
Are your parents artists as well? You really have a great eye.

Thanks to everyone donating for the video, I didn't know people would have an interest here. :-)

Can these techniques be applied to DV ? Have you tried them on motion video ?

Although this tutorial is meant for still, most of the effects can be applied. I have done some experiments myself, please view this movie here I have created. It was shot with a very standard $300 home camera.

I can tell you the gleams are present in the original picture, but yes you are correct the stars are not. That specific exposure is 8 seconds long, giving the solar effect on all lights facing the lens. The ones on the bridge are from a car driving by, and stopping in the road, then continuing. I agree with you though, it is the end result that counts. ;-)

Simply gorgeous. I would have donated the money simply to see what you could do with the DVX.

Note: In no way does that mean that I don't want the DVD.

They only come along every so often....

Joey Lawrence is.... The Chosen One.

Seriously, your work is great. You have such a seasoned eye and a wide open future.

We will no doubt see more of you.
