Im looking at picking up 2 jib cranes and would like ea to be between 400-1000.

My question is what are some good ones. These are what i have found.

1- kessler crane 12/8 kit

2- pro Aim seems good for budget and with a head for around 1200!

3- Camera crane 1 plus

??? they all seem good

My friend has the ProAm DVC-250 and we've used it pretty extensively. The two crane shots in this video (one is the second shot) were done with it. No head but it does have some limited tilt control and the stand thing it comes with works great..it's super cheap as well, around $500.

I cant tell if the comment about the stand was serious or sarcastic? And tilt would not really matter since im getting a head for it.

Thanks

I was looking at the Pro aim heads from india?? How does this stuff hold up? i mean if it serves for a year and breaks id be happy. Any one else get they're stuff. All they're feedback is great.

Thanks

problem with a lot of the cheap ones from india is that they sway and jitter. Great stuff can be done with them, just takes a lot more patience and practice.

I have a pro am and it works great for the money. I did have a problem with it on a really cold windy day. It does sway in the wind but ironically this did not show in the footage; perhaps because it was a snowy day???

Yeah the ProAm's are great jibs for how cheap they are! One windy shoots I have to gaffer tape the exposed holes on the stand so it doesn't make music!!!

there is even a 150 dollar version from diamond dolly on ebay now (still would need stand and weights). I'm a bit leary though as seemingly some people who ordered dollies took forever to get them.
