Interesting. Men jag fattar inte... why are svenska gubbar fighting in a war? and i can clearly see this is sweden, so why are they fighting germans there? and why are they speaking english? and since they are speaking english, why are there english subtitles? and the title is a german word (each)? very international all this. Personally, I wanted to hear swedish. Everyone, including the germans should have been speaking swedish. I would have really liked that. The subtitles made me angry.
Anyhow. Too many close-ups, not enough establishing or medium shots so the context was not always clear, and it felt a bit claustrophobic at times. You could say "artistic choice", but it didn't seem like the effects were controlled. For many of the shots, it seems to me the point of view was not clear. Take the church tower at 5:30, before we get into the interior where there's the guy shooting. Why was that handheld? Was it the pov of the soldier who will come in? Doesn't seem so, then it should have been something off a tripod, not hand-held, because that's pretty distracting and makes it seem random and uncontrolled. I mean, you can indicate chaos in other ways than handheld shots with no pov. In general, throughout, a lot of odd angles that didn't seem justified.
But overall, great effort. Clearly was a big production, what with costumes and stuff. Must have been a heck of a lot of work. Quite impressive. I even liked the actors. I'm not sure the intent came through very much, but it was certainly interesting, and held my interest. I also liked the cinematography. Det var bra.
Good stuff, and I'm looking forward to more work from you.
In general it's nice to have such thing with "no experience".
And you say you're next project will be less difficult, so did you think this one would be hard, though, difficult to do ? Or did you think "naaaah, it will just go fine and every piece will automatically fall in the puzzle" ?
