Jason Statham-The WORST 'action' 'star' ever

And this is coming from a Brit.

I just can not see the interest in this guy.

He plays the same punk in every film hes been in, has a bald head, tries to act mean but just comes off as laughable.

He's not funny, witty, or likable in any way as far as I'm concerned.

I tried to like the guy, but I couldn't.

He was mediocre in Lock Stock.

I was amazed he became this new action star in films like Crank, The Transporter and now The Expendables.

Are Hollywood THAT desperate? Is the 21st action star now an average Joe made to look tough and cool to appeal to the average bloke at home?

I just don't get it.

I'm embarrassed this is the best that the UK can offer America in terms of an action star.

Someone please tell me whats the deal with is guy. I'm stumped. LOL.

How do you feel about Clint Eastwood?
Bruce Willis?
Or a whole list of others who have exactly the same quality as Jason ... screen charisma

Clint Eastwood= a dud, but his past movies have been cool. I.e Dirty Harry, The Good the bad the Ugly etc. As for Gran Turino.....errr..........

Bruce Willis DOES have charisma.

There is absolutely no redeeming value to Statham what so ever.

I think Statham brought down the quality of Snatch. That's a character-driven movie, so you kinda have to, ya know, like the characters to enjoy the movie.

IMO, Brad Pitt severely upstaged Statham. I got sick of the same expression on Statham's face for the whole 2 hours :S

Crank 2 was incredible. One of my fav movies of all time. I love j statham. Think he's great.

Was Dolph Lungren unavailable?

It's kind of appropriate that you posted this, because I was about to say that Statham is the current Christopher Lambert.
I like that.

I like Statham. I liked him in "Snatch" and a few of his other films. "Crank" was just a joy ride....nothing to take serious at all. I do think he is one dimensional and monotone....but ..that just means he's limited to certain types of roles. Just don't try to do Shakespear and he'll be just fine. :)
