Since the HVX seems to getting close to a complete working model I figured I would pesture you to see if Genlock and Timecode in and/or out is a feature that will be on it. Canon is now saying that their new HDV camera will have these and it will really open the camera to some serious professional usage.

Although our business will definately be purchasing at least one HVX I fear these features that Canon is including will make it the prosumer choice of larger production houses.

Anyways just wondering if that decision has been locked in yet...

Cheers

The ability to run a 'slave' HVX over firewire would be cool. And already in the DVXB. So cram in the HVX aswell...

right.. since its in the DVX100b .. its likely in the HVX100. but theres no confirmation for this whatsoever yet. but pana isnt dumb .. they added it to the dvx100b because it was a really requested feature.. and with a new camera intended to be the most ronded out solution i couldnt see them thinkig it didnt need it for some reason.. i would think its likely just a firmware thing anyway.

Synch thru firewire is an interesting idea but would not allow you to synch with other professional cameras or audio recorders. Maybe they could create some converter box?

Unfortunately I get the impression the camera is already set in stone (or plastic as the case may be) and in all the pictures I see there is no port for TC...could be hidden somewhere?

Surely someone will make some kind off conversion box? And if not they should start right now. All of them! :)
