I just got the word......On Tuesday, January 17th, Canon is supposed to announce the pricing and dealers for the C300. If that's the case, will finally know what the price is going to be for us here in the US!

Official Dealers and Pricing Announced:

Confirms my expectations, a tiny bit out of my price range at $15,999. Definitely not aimed at the DSLR market.. but an amazing camera nonetheless.

I see the confirmed price in the US is $15,999 and shipping end of the month.

Anyone know if a confirmed price & shipping for the UK has been released.

That is the street price and I will not be buying at that price.
All the dealers are listing this as the street price.

Camera manufacturers always start higher and then drop it down quickly with "special" discounts that tend to stay permanant

B&H lists the WFT adapter as included in the box, is this a typo or is Canon really bundling it with the body?

It list the body as having a WFT attachment. They state "the Canon Wireless File Transmitter WFT-E6A (sold separately)"
It does not come with the camera.

Canon has pretty standard pricing, and rarely do they drop the prices as items age. If dealers are saying $15,999, then expect to pay $15,999.

Priced out of my budget.

So much for $12K
$12K was always "internet rumor" fantasy. Just like the "12-50 f/2.5-3.3" Lumix lens, just like the "OIS version of the 7-14" lens, and all sorts of other completely baseless speculations.

On day one, Chris Hurd's article said $16k, and Canon said "under $20k". When it was finally announced, it was ... guess what? $16k. Exactly what it was always going to be.

That "$13k" and "$12k" and "under $10k" stuff was all baseless speculation and counterproductive rumoring.

If I were in the market right now, for that price I'd be buying the F3.

Then you are missing the point of the C300. It is very small and light, runs a long time with the supplied battery (let alone the bigger battery that runs the camera closer to 7 hours), is on a better internal approved broadcast codec, and goes to much lower light with very little grain. The trend is smaller not bigger. I really like the F3 but when you add S-log ($4K upgrade) and an expensive external recorder ($4-6K min) and power that up, you have a large camera that is bigger than a Varicam.
