Jag35 Monitor Review?

Has anyone used the Jag35 Monitor? It's so cheap, I'm assuming it comes with a cost no doubt.

Drew.

A lot of cheap monitors say they're compatible with full HD. They say that because they can accept that signal. But the actual image the monitor displays is usually 800 x 600 or something like that. It's not exactly shady. Just a common "trick" if you will. That's pretty subjective though, you can decide for your self if it's shady. There are monitors that accept full hd and display 800 x 600 for $200 shipped in the DVX USER marketplace. I think he has like 19 of them left.

Jag35 usually are very good and have there bumps like any startup. If the monitor is misrepresented I would say let him know that

I have dealt with them quite a bit

Weird, because on their site, it says HD... hmm, so that seems shady, ergo, Jag35 is a shady company?

No, not shady. Just a very small outfit. Last I checked it was guy who made a decent cheap adaptor for the Canon HV series. Not sure if it's more people now or if it's still fairly homegrown.

Yeah pretty sure that's the lilliput. There was another guy on HV20.com selling another one. They all look to be the same monitor just with different badges, or lack of badges.

And the Lilput monitor is outputting 1080x1920?

The Jag35 site says "Supports 1920X1080 Resolution (native 800×480)"

and the Liliput site says "800×480, up to 1920×1080"

Now does anyone have any experience with these monitors and could tell us their experiences?

A friend of mine has one. You can send it a 1920x1080 HD signal and it will decode and display it in 800x480. If you just need something to pull focus, it's a pretty decent monitor.

Although, I don't have mine yet (just ordered it), so I am saying that from what I've been told, not from experience.

Alright thanks man. Which one are you refering to the liliput or the Jag35?

My needs are for my crane operator to be able to view what he is filming and to pull focus.... I'm not sure why people are needing monitors for other than that...

We have a Jag35 monitor and Ikan....the Jag35 is too contrasty compared to Ikan. The settings barely change the picture. It is a good monitor for focus, and if you are on a budget.
