I've got fresh footage from a P2 card

Nice!

Nice!

400 kbs! Can't wait to watch the clips from the greatest city in the world on the newest greatest camera in the world.

The first clip of the water bottle on the highway looks very soft. I assuming it was out of focus. However, the green screen clip, and water on hands clip looks amazing. Very nice looking "video". At this point, if properly exposed, the footage is looking a lot like film, and it doesn't feel quite right calling it video. I'm sure Varicam owners have felt the same for awhile.

In short, nice looking footage!!!

Yeah, sorry about that, I think it's a combination of OOF and the fact that I couldn't figure out in the few minutes I had the camera in my hands how to get the shutter to 1/48th. It jumped from 1/24th to 1/60th. The CU of the water in the hand was purposely filmed with 1/500th shutter speed to see the drops of water and give it a very sharp look.

You guys aren't seeing the noise in the background bokeh of the water/hand shot? It jumped out at me. Look in the white area. Also the shadow side of the Greenscreen face. Not as bad, but it's there all right.
You can't see it on the stills very much, but on the clip you can see it jumping around.

I'm starting to wonder if Barry got the pick of the litter for the camera he tested. (That's what I'd do if I was working for Panasonic)

OK - it's time for the 4 way test already. :-)

I'm on FCP 4.5. Any way to view or convert these P2 files? Wouldn't import into my FCP. Maybe cinema tools or Compressor?

now that's solid keying !

and the background was shot with ?...
It matches very nice in texture,,,everything.

Great job !

Very nice stuff, Mr. Blonde! Any reason why it looks vertically squished? I'm still downloading the clip, but that's encouraging to see.

Thanks guys, yea it's squished, not sure why I just exported the clip straight from Avid as a jpg, weird. Says the dimensions are 720x486. The background was on a music vid set shot with a Canon 20D. The keying is quite clean, honestly I haven't messed with keying much ever but I popped this one out in a few minutes, good stuff this dvc pro hd is! =)

-It's been resized. =)

Hello fellow HVX friends. I apologize but I will unfortunatley have to remove these files from my website tonight, midnight PST - My bandwidth is near gone!!!!! yikes! that was fast!!! Someone else host these awesome files or torrent them!!

Again, I'm sorry...

DL while you still gotta chance suckass!!

Great looking stuff. That water on hands shot made me almost pee my pants. But it was water pouring so that might have helped to get that effect. Either way, impressive.

I had my eye out for the noise since that is what everyone has been talking about. These shots don't necessarily test low light situations, but this stuff looked great! The noise I did notice was on the shadow side of the shirt collar on the green screen shot. The darkest big area of the frame. And on the water hands shot you could see noise inside the sleeve in the upper left corner of the frame. In terms of these shots it was so insignificant I could care less.

What I really want to see is some dramatic lighting where one side of the face is fully lit and the other side of the face goes into shadow (no fill light). Noise on collars and in sleeves is nothing, but if the shadow side of my actor's face is jumping around then that's another story.

Can't wait for the 4 camera shootout!
