its a fast, heavy, and first music video with the 7D

The footage/editing was pretty good. Well, the editing especially. But I think the concept was way too dramatic and ridiculous. Also he didn't even burn anything? That was a bit off. And, not your fault, but I really wish they wouldn't have done all that ridiculous sync dancing

editing made the video watchable. music just isn't my taste. I thought the dude was going to burn that city back drop, that would have been dope.

Pretty cool edit ! I agree I was wating for fire on he city back :) Whole color grading looks bit plain and washed out to me ....

thanks for the feedback.. more than. "it sucks." it was my first video and also the bands. we wanted to burn the backdrop but.. i decided against it just because i didnt want it getting out of control hah. thanks again.

ahahaha, this reminds me of Attack!Attack! with all the crabcore dance stuff.
great video though, really liked it alot

There is a thing called 'Chekhov's gun' in theatre: If you see a gun in the first act, it better be fired in the third.

The implications with the gasoline in the beginning is setting up a large flame in the end. Feel a little bit cheated in that sense... But, I really enjoyed the hanging bulbs and the light panels behind the drum. And the the head bobbing at 60 looked cool, but was a bit 'N syncy

Editing and general shooting, up to par.
Color correction - the skintones were WAY TOO PINK for my taste. Contrast seemed washed out too.
Enough has been said about fueling the background and then NOT burning it - kind of ridicules the whole story part...

BUT the music: WTF? This Crap"core" phenomenon really caught on? Give me a f***ing break!
Being the lame copy of sth utterly ridiculous is just sad.
Just for reference the "original", also an "atrocity" in my book:

i didnt mind the head banging thing in unison...just thought it was shown 2 much. I think the hardcore music with skater looking dudes and soft lighting didnt match at all. Hard light would be better for this with sharp shadow drop offs and maybe a wardrobe tweak...not entirely overhaul cuz i guess thats who they are..but a harder edge to match the music. I liked the bulbs and most of the camera movement. I 2 wish the boxes were lit. I LUVED the sillouette shot. you should have used more of it instead of just one clip.

Overall i think u did well for your first video. Dont be discouraged...we try to help even if it doesnt always come out like that. Goodluck on your next project.

Darren.

edit: forgot to mention...i did enjoy the edit.

Wow, I'm not sure what to say.

I think you did a lot of things very well. I liked the overall look and feel of it. I thought it was very kinetic and the movement of the lights and band worked. Maybe a bit cliche, but I thought you pulled it off.

The drummer is really quite good. I don't get the lead singer? But I guess if your into that maybe he's good. For me, he really detracted from the occasional good performance. Again, nothing against the lead singer, not something I would normally listen to.

Considering this was yours and the bands first music video I think you did a very good job. I'm guessing the song had something to do with suicide?

The obvious problem that everyone else has mentioned is that you set up the viewer, that this guy was going to torch himself/place but don't pay it off. So I guess at some level your story started to work.

Don't worry if people don't reply to videos you post. Some of the videos I've posted have over 3K views in a month with no more than five or ten replies. The truth is a lot of people don't even know which end of a camera to look through. If they did there would be a lot more, something other than "test" videos posted...

Good work, keep it going.

thanks everyone for the replies.
-about the attack attack video being similar..... bummer!!! HAH that video was completely staged as far as their movements went.
-this band is 6, 17-20 year old kids just having some fun. they actually do have quite a big following in Cleveland as weird as that might be to some of you. 2300 plays in two and a half days.
-but i really appreciate the comments on CC and the issues with the story. definitely need to work on that and my story writing.
- the song was about a kid "burning a city down" which they used a metaphor. meaning he wanted to delete all ties to his past. but struggling with himself if he actually wanted to do that or not. and once he burnt the city we wanted to show him in pain.(falling on his knees part.) i tried to focus on that part of the song. so whether that came across or not is my lack of good story writing.
-I had a couple other ideas but they just weren't realistic for a ZERO budget music video. the buildings were made out of old pallets and scrap cardboard. yes i would have loved to burn them. but burning down the whole factory was nothnig something i wanted to do hah.
-the set has about 25 hours of construction. from building to shooting and tear down was a 4 day process.
but once again. i really appreciate the feedback.

They found the beats that were lost for about 20 years or so, but at least this is better than rap, there is some occasional music and singing here. Shooting? I just had my lunch, and handheld style with blurry focus does not really improve my digestion. Also I think the shoot would benefit from more light, both in terms of quantity (too dark) and quality (too flat).

The jumping guitarist is hilarious.

I wasn't meaning any disrespect by comparing it to attack attack!
Just making a comparison, as for the following I believe it. I used to be in a
hardcore band as well
