Ok, here is my issue. I have a film that was shot on the XH-A1 in HDV 24f and in 16:9 aspect ratio. I have brought it into FCP 6 and edited it with no issues.
The class I am working on the film for has a mini-dv deck with no HDV so I would need to convert to SD. I have tried numerous different techniques to no avail. I either don't get the video to compress correctly or when it is correct I have aspect ratio issues. Any help you can provide can be great.
I will break down my settings for you: Editing in FCP 6 in a HDV 1080p 24 sequence. I want to export to mini-DV tape on DV NTSC, not HDV (The deck it will be played back on will not support HDV). I want to maintain the 16:9 aspect ratio as the projector can display a 16:9 image
I have been pulling my hair out and any techniques you could give me would be great. The decks I wish to capture to is either an HV20 or a Sony DV/DVCAM deck.
