Iscorama Anamophic Lens Test

What camera are you going to use it with? Will it vignette on a FF sensor? Is the anamorph detachable? Purely academic now of course!

I bought it! It´s a very rare 35mm Iscorama Lens which complete my selection to the isco 42 adapter now. (The 42 works only on 50mm < without a vignette). Last Year someone did sell the same Lens in the US for 3000$.

Best regards, Philip

It was build for hor. 35mm photography, so it won´t vignette on a FF Sensor. I´ll use it on a 5D and a 7D. I´ll upload some Frame grabs if it arrives.

The anamorp isn´t detachable, it´s a complete Lens which can be Focos like a normal Fotolens and only need a Diopter for Close-ups <1.5m

isco 2001

Very interesting! I have just bought a model 2001, which I take it is the 50mm version of your 2005! It also comes with a slide projector adapter to unsqueeze the images and a set of original isco diopters.

I'm not too sure what the mount is, do you know if this is praktica? edit: after looking closely, this looks like a Canon mount!?

I'm guessing one of these will enable me to fit it to a 5D2.

I really like to see something shot through the 2005 once you have it!

Congrats! 2001 = NIKON mount. Adaptors are easy to find for EOS.
(I'm really amazed what people buy these days without even knowing what they bought...LOL)

No it is not. It is a f1.8/50mm lens w. fixed 1.5x anamorph. adaptor (axis cannot be adjusted with that type). It is the newer multicoated type, you you will not see these anamorph. flares everyone raves about...but pretty good optic (I have the Nikon version).

From the photo on the ebay listing the maximum aperture seems to be 2.4, not 1.8.

So perhaps it is indeed a 35mm.

I'm sure Phil hopes he hasn't bought another 50mm Isco!

Looks like I spoke too soon! The 2001 is apparently sold :(

They took my money via paypal, sent confirmation etc, then refunded this morning. Strangely it is still listed as for sale on the website...

Oh well, it was an MC version so wouldn't have nice flares anyway...

Very unprofessional I would say. Someone must have seen it sold and made a ridiculous offer under
the table I guess before they had sent it to you. How did they argue when they refunded you?
You could file with ebay or / or Paypal but it still won't get you the lens though...

Yeah I thought about making a fuss, but like you say, it wouldn't get me then lens!

They just sent me an email saying CANCELLED with no explanation. When I replied they just said it was sold.

Oh well, one will turn up eventually. Everything comes to he who waits!

I haven't tried all the options yet to see about close focus. About 2 meters looks fine at f2.8 on the canon. There's a focus ring on the adapter which seems to go to 6 feet so that makes sense.

I really need a rig to hold it in place. Waiting for new rail system to arrive then I'll see make something up. Bit worried the adapter will bend the rails though!

Making me think those cheapo ISCO anamorphic projector lenses on ebay might be worth experimenting with

Looks great - I can't see any need for a diopter here ?
