Yes, it's legit. I've been getting them for a few years. First as a CPS member and now also as a Cinema EOS owner.
 
How do you get these? Looking at purchasing a second C100 but never registered for Canon's email services.

The email says the discount is good for consumer camcorders. But includes professional and consumer camcorder accessories.
 
Do the survey if you want to give them feedback. For example, this current one asks about desired features in a new Cinema EOS camera. The "reward" is rarely much of a deal. One I was sent this past January was $10 off $100 or more in the Canon Store. The ones sent to me regarding CPS membership had no reward.

With the current one unless you happen to need a consumer camcorder, I think the only accessories for the Cinema series are batteries and that's because they share them with the XF line. You'd save ~$30 off of B&H's price for BP-955.

I used to get these and finally unsubscribed. The amount of the discount doesn't really count for much once you compare the final prices. Keep in mind that Canon starts at official list price before deducting that discount and then also charges sales tax and shipping and it can often wind up costing more than buying from B&H or your local dealer.

Somehow I doubt that would count. The only discount that I've seen is if you're a CPS Gold, Platinum, or Cinema member you'll get free shipping back from Canon.
 
I'm a CPS member but never received a email like this, just a survey email asking how the service was for calling in or for recent repairs.

Does anyone have one of these emails they're not using they could forward me? I could really use it for my first c100

IIRC, when you sign up for a Canon user profile you just check the box saying you want to receive info on special offers.
Keep in mind that this 30% discount is not for a C100, but 30% of list price of older camcorders that are already discounted at most resellers. You might find something in there that will save you a few bucks on some accessory, but from my experience the deals almost never penciled out to be better than what I could get from B&H or my local shop once shipping and tax were included.
 
I received the same survey! They asked specific questions about the C100 toward the end of the survey. Survey also requested info on suggestions for C100 (model upgrades, wishlist, etc)!!!!
