Hi there!

I've made this screenholder on to the mic-bracket on the side of the handle. It's a 7" tft screen made for car-dvd use. Mostly because I had it lying around and I shoot alot of "one-time-shots" there you only get one chance, such as hockey, concerts etc.

my question is: Is the screen to heavy for the fusealage. It's no gap or anything, But I dont want to bend something broken in the dvx-frame. Even if it's made of titanitum(?)

Here are som pics

I would worry, since that plastic is very soft. It may warp over time.

Why don't you mount it on the shoe? You obviously can't use the shoe for a mic in that setup anyway.

With shoe youo mean the metal-holder on the top of the handle?

its only to be mounted for short periods and with a tripod-use..

I got it from my car-dvd stuff, that i dont use right now

Your concerns are valid ones. I wouldn't be hanging anything with any kind of weight on that bracket. Look again at the size of the screws tha are holding it to the camera body. I'd be worried that something hitting or bumping the monitor could tear the mount right off the camera.
Moz's suggestion is a good one. Since you've already made the bracket, it shouldn't be too hard to attach it to a safe shoe mount adaptor.
Hope this helps.

thanx for your inputs guys. Im a bit confused though what you mean with a shoe mount.. My english is quite limited because I live in sweden. so if someone could explain what a shoe mount adapter does i would be very happy

shoe mount is the silver metal mount on top of the handle. it is meant to have things monted to it. i would not mount a lcd monitor to the mic holder bracket. like everyone else said one bump and its probably good bye.

aah, so that is the shoemount. hehe, you guys dont even want to know the name in swedish :-P. A couple of more quetsions then: What is that clicking sound when you put load on to that mount? somekind of button? Is there something with the metal on it that leads current, or is it just metal because it's strong?
