is this legit

before I blow 2000 dollars away can someone tell me how much 720p/24p a p2 card will hold. I beleive its 64 minutes but I am not entirely sure.

- videoguys IS a legit company.
- the model firestore you want is the FS100
- depends on what size p2 card youre talking about... you get roughly 16 min of 720/24pn on an 8gig card. 30ish min on a 16 gig. you can do the math from there

this is wrong.

at 720/24pn....

8gb = 20min
16gb = 42 min

jeezz is there a cheeper way to do this I have a 5.5 hour event to cover with a final product 2 hours long! I am weary with firestores because they require batteries.

Rent cards, you do not have to own them to use them. Unless all of your events at this long then there might be some tought give to build up to enough cards to cover. We are up to 32GB cards and thos will hold 32 minutes of full frame rate or1hr 15min of time in 24PN. Firestore , FS-100, has three flavors 100GB, 160GB and 250, they also work in Native modes and in native(PN) 24PN the formula is 2 1/2 min per GB.

Good luck,

Jan

I have just bought a 32gb card and the camera comes with a 16gb card. do you think I will be alright for shooting 720p/24p for about 2 hours?
thanks

16GB Card = 42 minutes of 720/24pNative

Double that for a 32 GB card. But that is Native acquisition.

Equals about two hours and six minutes.

And to clarify Jan's statements, the FS series will record the equivalent of pNative footage by stripping out redundant frames on the fly.

You cannot stream pNative out Firewire, so the cam and the FS have to be set up properly to achieve equivalent pNative recording.

Once recorded, however, the equivalent pN footage is identical to that recorded directly in the cam to p2 card.
