Is this a sign for dead pixels? Do I have a broken camera?

I took a picture with the lens cap on.
When I look at the taken picture in play mode and zoom into the picture all the way I see lots of white and red dots.
The white pixels are all over the picture. ISO 3200 and 6400. With ISO 100-400 everything is black.

Is the camera sensor broken? Does the sensor have dead pixels?

When I zoom with the lens, the white pixels are at different places. Even on 2 pictures with the same zoom the white pixels are at different places.

Is this normal or is something broken?

When you do this with your camera and kit lens, do you see white pixels too??

What you've described is just noise in the image because of the high ISO values.

Stuck or dead pixels are usually a solid colour (either red, green or blue) or they do not illuminate. And they definitely don't change positions from picture to picture.

It's nothing to worry about, just food for thought when considering what higher ISO values do to your footage.

Why would you even do that? Just go out and enjoy your camera :)

I would repeat vision_filmz sentiment, just go out and shoot with your camera and stop worrying...

You'll likely notice dead pixels in your footage by looking for the things that I mentioned in my earlier post in your footage.

take a picture with the cap on, so it's all black, but don't push exposure up, set it at ISO 100 and 1/50s or so

in stills, every camera has more than a few dead pixels

they shouldn't show up in video

this process hides them:

place the body cap on the camera. Go to M picture mode. Go to menu and
look for sensor cleaning. Choose clean manually. Hit ok and wait 30
seconds. Then resume regular use. It will get rid of the dead pixel.

edit: and, after all this, let me state that I think vision_filmz's advice was more useful than mine...
