Is there something wrong with my camera's video mode?

Whenever I record videos on my Canon eos 60d in low light environments the videos appear noisy. I find this strange particularly when I'm shooting with a low iso and f stop.

This is a screenshot example. The settings are 1/50, f1.8, 100 iso.

When taking pictures it looks okay.

Here is a picture example. The settings are the same.

I am aware that noise is inevitable with DSLR's but as mentioned before the video was shot no higher than 100 iso and with a wide aperture. But noise still appears.

Is there something wrong with my camera's video mode?

Thanks.

There is nothing wrong with your 60D. Video always looks worse than Photos.

ISO 100 is useless for night. If it's fairly lit city scene, it's usually minimum of 640. I try to keep it at 1280 max. 3200 starts looking bad.

Stills you can go much higher.

Noise is NOT only cause by iso, it is caused by you underexposing something. You my friend have an underexposed shot, try iso 640 as noted and your image will look a lot better, you can go up all the way to 1250 and it can still look good as well. The reason you might not see that much noise in the still image is possible because the image is in higher resolution.

Also, don't forget to shut off auto lighting optimizer and highlight tone priority in the movie menu. These are both known to add noise to your image.

I would also suggest doing a little playing with ISO. Many recommend 160 over 100. Start at 160 and bump it increments double your current ISO. Example:

160, 320, 640, 1280, etc.
