C100: Is there any way to mount farther back on the bottom plate?

Here is my dilemma: The c100 tripod mounting screw is so far forward on the body that when I mount my edelkrone pocket rig, it sticks out over past the base of the camera making it weird ergonomically, and when using smaller lenses, like the contax zeiss lenses I so love, I can't even get a follow focus to work on it because once the rails are folded out, they are past where the lens focusing ring is. Is there any way to get an adapter that would allow me to mount something farther back on the baseplate or something like this?

I have gone down the path of using Kessler quick release plates on everything and they are brilliant. I'm not sure it would solve your problem 100% but it's an idea.

Just took a look at the kessler site and kinda confused exactly for what i'm looking for and how these plate actually function haha..

Here is what i use: http://www.kesslercrane.com/product-p/kwik_system.htm

If you put a receiver on various things like tripod, slider, shoulder rig etc then the camera can be quickly switched from one to the other.

It also changes where the centre of gravity is depending on how you mount the plate to the camera which might help your situation...

Here you can see one of the mounting plates attached to the C100:

Awesome! Thank you so much for the picutre, the helps a ton! Just might have to pick myself up one of those!

So essentially, if you want to utilize this system, you would have to purchase that unit you linked to, and add a plate (looks like you have the "short" one, yes?) and then buy one of the $139 reciever units for every place you'd want to mount it? Tripod, steadicam, dolly, etc

I guess all plates are the same, I use the manfrotto quick release plate, eventhough its small but it still reaches out the bottom lip of c100. its quite hurt when you are trying to grab that section.

Yes it's the short one. And yes you would have to buy the receiver units for each tripod etc. Good long term investment.

Definitely. They are actually pretty well priced compared to offerings by other companies it looks like. I can see using these for years and years to come
