Is there a way to monitor audio level on the 7D? Looking for 3rd party products!

I've seen the new Beachtek DXA-5D, but I was wondering what our other options are.

There is no way that I know of to monitor 7D audio at the record head.

True, but is the beachtek the only way?

I record to a Edirol HR09 digital recorder that I mount to the hot shoe on my camera. I plug my earbuds into the Edirol. The Edirol also provides a VU meter that I can see when I have the unit mounted to the hot shoe. Of course, I must sync audio in post but that is not too big a deal.

Juicedlinked only had one model that provided audio level monitoring, it's no longer in production.

I guess we don't have too many options.
