Is there a program that can take 24p footage and make it look like 60p for slow-mo?

Hey everyone. Like a knucklehead, I shot a scene that is supposed to be in slow motion in post and I forgot to switch my shutter speed to 60 or 120 instead of 50. Is there a program that will double each frame so the slow motion will be nice and smooth and at the same time still look good or am I going to have to reshoot it at a higher frame rate? Thanks.

By the way, I edit with Premiere Pro CS5.

I would never shoot 1080p @ 24 FPS for footage you intend to be slowed down. It really doesn't work well.

If you really must shoot 1080p @ 24 FPS then shoot 1/50 of a second shutter speed and try to interpolate it to 48 FPS with VirtualDub and AVISynth for free or you can use some of the excellent "pay for" solutions like twixtor.

Here is a sample of what 720p @ 60 FPS looks like with VirtualDub and AVisynth. The clips of the birds and one of the Baseball clips were sourced from 1080p @ 24 FPS. You should be able to spot them. They don't look as good as the 720p clips do.

Those Basketball dunking clips make me smile everytime I watch.

I wish I could post the footage from the game itself. I got some incredible footage and stills that night. However, I fear the wrath of the NBA if I post them.

If you definitely want to shoot in 1080 and not in 720, then it would probably help if you start off with 1080p @ 30fps. More frames mean Twixtor has more info to work from.

I really don't understand the obsession with Twixtor, the built-in Timewarp feature of After Effects (using pixel motion setting) seems to do the exact same thing and work as well. I think it might be a little slower to render but not $500 slower.

AVISynth appears to work just as well and it is free. None of them are perfect though.
