GH4 Is the 12-35 the "best" starter lens for run-n-gunning?

Hey, y'all!

I'm jumping back into run-n-gun freelancing (corporate, commercial, industrial, etc.), and I'm realizing some of my cinema-oriented gear isn't best suited for such environments. I do have a follow focus and geared manual prime lenses, but I'm seeing the shortcomings of these in fast moving scenarios for quickly re-framing and such. For those of you who do this type of work with the GH4, do you primarily use a zoom lens with ois and auto focus (I'm curious about the usability of the touch screen focus feature)? And if so, does the 12-35 f/2.8 offer the most flexibility and bang for the buck? Thanks so much!

Ya, I think so. Decent well-built lens and now only about $700 retail. so maybe an update is coming next year...but if you need something now with OIS, why wait?

Note that while I have a GH4, I haven't worked with a M43 camera for about half a year...there may be other newer options. So let's see what others think.

I do a lot of run n gun type shoots - events and various types of corporate,
I got the Olympis 12-40 instead, great lens and extra reach, I can live without the OIS.
I have a fairly steady hand for handheld stuff and use a Velbon Mini tripod as a makeshift rig - one leg rests on my shoulder, one pressed into my chest and one hand on the lens for 3 points of contact.
Occasionally need to use the stabiliser in FCPX but that works great as long as the shots are relatively steady.

Think it's the best all around lens for the camera. I use it 75% of the time and have many others to choose from.

I don't think there is anything better/cheaper than this with low light and all the features. Understand the FOCUS is not GEARED - not great for CINEMA, GREAT for R&G. I have it, I like it.

The 12-35/2.8 is my most commonly used m4/3 lens, but I'm intrigued by Olympus' upcoming 12-100/4 due to it's 8:1 zoom range.
