Is it safe to use the charger with a power inverter?

I have emailed panasonic but I expect I may get a quicker response from someone here who has tried it already.
Is it safe to use the power lead/charger combo with a power inverter (one that changes 12volts into mains voltage - 240volts for me as I live in the UK).
I have read rumours that some chargers shouldn't be used with square wave sine converters (what most cheap inverters are).
I'm using what is basically a combo emergency car starter as a portable power rig for lighting but if I could get some extra power for the camera it may come in handy.
Anybody tried this?

I can't imagine it being a problem, and honestly I think most people that say things about the square sinewave are just spreading false information anyway. Most all electronics are designed with power supplies that are specifically designed to clean up power like that.
