Is it possible to have LCD screen turned on while using monitor?

Is it possible (with the 60D) to connect a external monitor (either trough HDMI or the USB component cable) without it automaticly shutting down its' own LCD screen?

I would really like to have a monitor connected and still be able to look at the camera's LCD...
 
And bonus question:

Is it possible to connect 2 monitors while using a HDMI splitter?
