is it bad...

when i purchase something on Ebay from a seller in China ("skinkphoto"....bought a remote shutter release for my GH1), and the invoice that's emailed to me is written in German? item has shipped, and may arrive any day, but i didn't see the email until just now...the email was sent after it was said to have shipped...just kind of curious.

It's probably fine. I bought a remote shutter off of EBAY (not internationally though) and I got the shipping email the day I received the package.

well, i just received the remote shutter today. it doesn't even have the correct connector for the GH1. it's got what looks like a mini usb connector, not the 2.5mm that was pictured in the listing. damn it. it's gonna cost me way more than the product itself to ship it back to China. ahh well. not sure what i'll do...if i fond an adapter, i don't want to add extra strain to the input on my cam. ahh well. i should have just shelled out for the Panasonic model.

thanks Frank for offering to translate...i guess it doesnt matter now.

Just ask them to send the correct item. And if they want the other thing back (whatever it is) they should send you X amount of money. See how they react. Maybe they just send you the correct one. Happened to me before.

thanks simon, i did email the seller with my concern about the cost of returning, so i'm sure that's what'll happen. negative feedback is more of a big deal these days.

Yeah, take it from an Ebay seller:

It's in their best interest to make sure you have the correct item. If they don't respond, you can open a case in eBay and in Paypal, which will suspend the funds until the matter's resolved. If they take too long, you just get your money back anyway.

Don't let them get away with it.
