Is it a good idea to clean the LCD monitor?

My fat fingers occasionally get fingerprints on the LCD monitor of the T2i. I didn't see anything in the manual about cleaning except "Do not user cleaners that contain organic solvents to clean the camera body or lens. For stubborn dirt, take the camera to the nearest Canon service center."

Is it OK to clean the LCD with something like iClean by Monster, which is supposed to be for electronic displays? Using the cloth that comes with iClean? The cloth says it is made of 80 percent polyester and 20 percent polyamide.

If cleaning is all right, how often should you do it? Everytime it gets fingerprints on it? Only occasionally? Will fingerprints damage the LCD over a long period of time? It looks like the LCD itself is covered by some kind of protective sheet of plastic.

Any advice much appreciated,

I've heard the screen is a lot tougher than you think. People have said, and I have also cleaned the screen with my t-shirt. No problems. I heard, at least on the 7D, that you can remove the protective film and replace it with a new one if it gets damaged. There's a clear plastic sheet protecting it from what I understand.
