Is FD Lenses an option?

I wondered since manual focus is probably going to be normal procedure to use cheap FD lenses with an adaptor. Because EF and EF-S lenses cost an arm and a leg, why not try like the gh-1 community.

FD lenses require an adapter with glass in it. Reduction in quality, and increase in magnification. No thanks.

Tried it. Not that good, although faily usable at apertures above 5.6 or so.

Could be useful if you have lots of cool fd lenses and want to shoot outdoors/ high iso.

Here's a review of an adapter: http://www.bobatkins.com/photography/reviews/canon_fd_eos_adapters.html

Consider that if you have to stop-down the lens just to maintain image quality, the DOF and light sensitivity advantages of using a DSLR to shoot video are greatly diminished. There are times when greater DOF is useful, but that would mean buying FD lenses for those special times. You could accomplish the same thing by stopping-down any other lens anyway.
