iPAD AS MONITOR?

This is all fine & dandy that you can hook an ipad up to a still camera dslr. But many of us have video cameras that we shoot video on. Not some hodge podge of bits & pieces connected to a camera meant for stills.

Has anyone found a way of connecting via hard wire, wifi, or even bluetooth, an Ipad as a live monitor from the component, composite, etc., outputs of a VIDEO camera such as a DVX 100, or HVX 200, or like units?

I do wish the iPad had a little more capabilities.

If it could be used as a director / general viewing monitor and be able to copy .mov files from flash cards to an external hard drive, I would get on in a second as it would just cut down on the endless amount of stuff I have to bring to a shoot.

I have a cheap android tablet I bought for £130 (Advent Vega).
I flashed a custom rom (VegaCream Beta 2.1).
Installed DSLR controller from Play (£5.94).
Set the tablet to USB host mode.
Attached my Canon 550d via USB.
Now I can monitor, control focus, shutter, aperture, white balance, and ISO, view histogram and other thing using my tablet.
And all for just £135.94.

The tablet isn't that good. There is a batch with bad touch screens and the viewing angles aren't great. I probably won't be using this set-up much but it's still pretty amazing that it works. Much respect to Chainfire (the programmer).

I've just tried it on my older & cheaper 7" chinese tablet and it also works. Although it runs at lower fps. I might try overclocking or changing the ram management to improve it.
