Introduction to the forum

Hey everybody I really appologise if this is in the wrong place but I just wanted to say hello and that I've been reading this forum for ages but never posted before and so thanks for all the information I've got off you guys already about this wonderous new Canon!
I own an XL1, an XM1 and an XM2 and am seriously thinkin of gettin rid of my XL1 and buyin the XH-A1. Few things i need to know first...
What types of batteries does it take? As my cameras all use the same type and so I have loads of em!
Also, I use Premiere 1.5 NLE to edit, but will be upgrading to Premiere 2 when I go HD (hopefully around september time) does this play nice with the XH-A1? I've heard it does but would like some feedback from anyone who actually uses them together.

Hey, Alex

The A1 uses the BP series battery, I'm pretty sure your batteries would work.

Premiere Pro 2.0 works fine with XH-A1 although you'll have to download the 24F preset and currently this doesn't allow you to print to tape. HDV is tough to edit so make sure your comp can handle it.

Btw, I'm currently looking for an XL1 body (already have the lense for it) so if you're interested in selling just the camera body & charger then PM me. Thanks!

I'd be upgrading my computer its all in the budget for my upgrade. Im thinkin a Pentium Dual core with 2GB RAM and maybe 2 TB of Hd space? That should cope you think? Also I need a HDMI capture card is that right ? I was lookin at this one

When I do get round to selling the XL1 ill be selling it as a whole sorry. I did toy with the idea of gettin a new lense for it but they so damn expensive I dont really see the point, may as well get a new (better) camera i figured.
