Interval recording??

I'm going to be working on a corporate video with my XL2. And want to get some time lapse footage, but in the menu of my XL2 I can't turn Interval recording on. All the interval options are in purple. Is there certain camera modes or settlings that need to be used to have the interval options?
I've looked in my manual but didn't see anything about that, and still can't get it to work. Has anyone had experience with the interval recording mode on the camera?

Thanks

I have tried it in all three modes, 24P, 30P and 60i. I as tried it in Drop Frame and non-drop frame time code, even though I didn't think that would make a difference.

Unless I'm missing something really simple, maybe there's some weird problem with my camera.

I think you are missing something very simple. Do you have tape in the XL2? For me the interval options are always purple until you put a tape in the drive. Then all of a sudden 2 of the 4 become available and then when you choose those the other 2 unlock.

Hope this helps! Let us know if this fixes it!

Peace!

Thanks icicle22. I didn't have a tape in it. At the time I just wanted to scan through the options, so I didn't think of putting a tape in. I later put one in and it did work. Ha ha, I was getting all scared that my camera was messed up. But it works just fine, just needed to load a tape.

Thanks guys.
