hey guys....

so my internal mic sounds HOT but it reads below normal levels...any ideas. I connected a couple of external mics and those sound great...yet the internal sounds horrific....again..the levels read LOW. When I play it back, the levels show low but the sound is FUEGO.....any ideas?
 
i just got my dvx100b less than a month ago and mine is having the same problem. even if the levels are almost as low as they go, most of the audio sounds like muffled, staticy and like the terminator in play back. even though it is far from redzoning

anyone?
 
Well,,,thank God someone responded....

I conducted several more testsand no matter what i do...the levels are completely distorted eventhough it does not even peak....I've checked EVERYTHING and there is no answer.....anyone?

Maybe resetting the DVX would cure this inconvenience?
 
Try changing from -50db to -60db (or vice-versa) in RECORDING SETUP menu but don't expect much; the onboard mic is worthless.
 
changing to -60 did do much. i plan on buying a better mic eventually, but i would assume the one that came with it should at least sound decent. i tried calling panasonic but i kept getting re-routed to a different area and ended up just hanging up.
