Interlaced lines appearing in 24pa footage in final cut pro and on export...

I recently shot night footage and imported to final cut and did the pulldown and all that but am noticing interlaced lines! I shot in 24pa and this is supposed to be progressive is it not!? Anyways, my only difference is I used a shutter speed of 1/24 this time as opposed to my usual 1/48. Any ideas? Thanks.

Depends on how you "did the pulldown and all that." Every once in a while, if you capture with the advanced pulldown removal, FCP hiccups and can't quite snag the cadence. You can try recapturing, or capturing straight 29.97 and using Cinema Tools to remove the pulldown manually.

Try using Flicker Filter. Go to Effects --> Video --> Flicker Filter. Then go to the clip filters in the viewer and set the flicker filter to medium. Sometimes, I get the same thing and this fixes it with no visual loss in quality.

I have found that the flicker filter does decrease the quality of the video. You want to make sure that you are editing in the correct timeline (same settings as your master footage). If you see the interlacing lines in the source, then its a capture problem.

If you dont want to recapture, then a deinterlace filter will do the trick.
