Just got my 7D from Jessops, and found that the cables and such have clearly been used and the battery has been charged. Also there's no instruction manual inside the box - only a cd-rom manual. Is this normal?

sounds like it isn't normal. maybe you should call up Jessops and see what's up with your order

So they don't just put the manual on CD-ROM these days?

My 7D came with two paper-based camera manuals - one English, the other French.

Bloody Jessops... Just called my local store and explained that the box had no manual inside so i needed to exchange it, and he told me that they can't accept a return if it's missing the manual! Half an hour later they agreed to exchange it - a Kafkaesque experience.
